Opportunity to Participate in a Discussion on Social Assistance Benefits Provided on Reserve


The researchers would like to meet with individuals (18 years of age and older) who live on-reserve and are receiving Social Assistance, Mi’kmaq youth (ages 15 to 17) and all interested Community members.


Speech from the Throne

Overall, we are not surprised there was very little in the speech that exclusively referenced Canadian Aboriginals.

Formal Apology for Residential Schools Abuse
The commitment for a formal apology from the Prime Minister of Canada regarding the Residential School issue is long overdue…and very welcome news.

PEI First Nations Governments say time and education needed before repealing Section 67 of Indian Act

CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI, OCTOBER 23, 2007 - PEI First Nations Governments will support the repealing of Section 67 of the Indian Act, but say time and education will be required to ensure these changes can be properly implemented.
