Executive Director, Mi’kmaq Confederacy of PEI

Reporting to the Epekwitk Assembly of Councils Inc. Board of Directors (the Board), the Executive Director is responsible for the operational organization of the Mi’kmaq Confederacy of PEI (the Confederacy), its achievements and conduct subject to its established by-laws, policies and directives. This includes leading, planning, managing and implementing the Confederacy’s programs, services, policies and financial affairs.
The Executive Director is responsible for leading the Confederacy in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission and vision as defined by the Board. The Executive Director is responsible for supervising Departmental Directors and serves as the lead of the Confederacy Senior Management Team. This position is responsible for ensuring effective liaison, on behalf of the Board, with officials of the Federal Government, Provincial Government, other First Nations, agencies and business associates in support of the Confederacy goals and objectives. The position is also responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff and for ensuring that hiring priorities support the engagement of qualified Mi’kmaq and Indigenous candidates.
