Family Group Conference Coordinator

The Family Group Conference Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and facilitating family focused circles or group conferences. To work collaboratively with families and stakeholders to engage them in a process to develop safety, wellbeing and permanency plans for children. The Family Group Conference Coordinator is part of the Confederacy’s Child and Family Services Program and will work closely with members of the PRIDE Program for Abegweit and Lennox Island First Nations. The family group conference process enables a least intrusive approach to serving families where children are at risk or child protection issues are present. The family group conference process provides a forum for families so they may have an opportunity to restore the central role and responsibility of the family back to the families and empowers families to take responsibility for their children. The Family Group Conference Coordinator reports directly to the Confederacy’s Director of Child and Family Services.
