Red Dress Day, observed each year on May 5, is a National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQIA+ people (MMIWG2S) in Canada. It serves as a reminder of the ongoing crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQIA+ people, and is a call to action to address systemic issues of violence and discrimination.

We invite you to join us for the Red Dress Walk beginning at Wyatt Heritage Properties in Summerside. This event is open to the public. Participants are encouraged to wear red and bring hand drums as we walk together in remembrance, solidarity, and respect.

This event is hosted by the Aboriginal Women’s Association of PEI Inc.
