Event History 

On October 1, 2023, the inaugural Treaty Day Mawio’mi, hosted by the Epekwitk Assembly of Councils, took place at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown. Our culture was celebrated, communities gathered, and history was made. 

Hundreds of Indigenous singers, drummers, vendors and artisans came together with Islanders to mark Treaty Day, which commemorates the Peace and Friendship Treaties of 1725-1779.
