The Mi’kmaq Confederacy of PEI Sport Circle celebrated a significant milestone with the launch of their Road to the 2027 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) – taking place in Calgary, Alberta on Treaty 7 Territory from July 25 to July 31, 2027.
This historic event will welcome more than 6,000 participants, 2,000 volunteers, and 756 Indigenous Nations across North America for the largest celebration of Indigenous youth, sport, and culture.
At the heart of this launch was the unveiling of a new design that will serve as the visual guide for Team PEI’s journey to the Games. This unique design brings together Mi’kmaq identity and cultural symbols, with a well-known landmark of the host city, Calgary. The blending traditions of the East with the West represents a symbol of unity, presence, and pride during the Games.

To kick-off the journey, MCPEI Sport Circle hosted a celebration of sport and culture on April 26, 2025 bringing together Indigenous youth across PEI. The event featured badminton, lacrosse, and cultural activities.
